Bio

Alison Margaret is a gifted jazz singer, arranger, composer, and pianist. She hails from Chicago, where she studied at the prestigious Columbia College, earning a degree in vocal jazz performance. She has a MM in music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Alison has performed at a host of venues and festivals throughout her performing career, including Madison’s Jazz at 5 showcase, Milwaukee’s Third Ward Summer Sizzle Festival, Isthmus Jazz Festival, The Barrymore, Shank Hall in Milwaukee, as well as at the High Noon Saloon, the Brink Lounge, Memorial Union, Opus Lounge, and Tempest Oyster Bar. 

Alison has also performed at many famous Chicago jazz haunts and festivals, including the Green Mill, the Hot House, Jazz Showcase, and the Navy Pier. Alison has enjoyed being featured as Critic’s Choice an unprecedented number of times in Isthmus, Madison’s premier entertainment weekly. 

Ms. Margaret has been a music educator for over 20 years. Currently she teaches private piano, voice, music theory, song writing, and improvisation at the Madison Music Foundry. Alison takes on students of all ages and levels. Please contact her if you are interested in signing up for lessons!
